So glad you’re here.
A self-interview to introduce the person, the process, and the passion behind my work.
Tell me about yourself.
I am a values-driven human. Serving others, taking care of people, doing the “right” thing, and respecting others have been central to all my work experiences. My goal has always been the same: to offer my best, lead with integrity, and create meaningful work that makes a difference.
From an early age, I discovered a deep love for storytelling and entrepreneurship. I launched my first photography business in high school, chasing the beauty in ordinary moments (all in checkered Vans and with my faithful Sharper Image camcorder). What started as journaling and laboring over the most unique MySpace layouts turned into a lifelong love for visual storytelling, creative strategy, and connecting with people through art.
Today, I’m most energized by helping brands uncover and share their stories with authenticity and impact. I believe that good creative work doesn’t just look beautiful, it makes people feel something real.
Why are you the best person for this role?
Beautiful art tells stories and sells ideas. It connects the human spirit, motivates change, and inspires good. My background in journalism, photography, and brand marketing gives me a distinctive mix of creative vision and strategic insight. I know how to craft work that doesn’t just look great—it resonates with audiences and delivers measurable impact.
Why do you want a job in Creative Direction?
Creative Direction has always been my dream role because it sits at the intersection of storytelling, design, leadership, and strategy, all the things I love most.
After a decade in creative and marketing roles, I’ve found that my greatest joy comes from leading talented teams, shaping ideas from concept to completion, and building brands that resonate deeply with their audience.
I’m ready to bring my experience as a photographer, copywriter, designer, and creative leader to a team that values excellence, collaboration, and heart.
How has your experience prepared you for this role?
I have over a decade of experience leading and creating across multi-channel marketing and creative teams. My background spans the age-tech, nonprofit, and education industries that demand adaptability, empathy, and clear communication.
As Creative Director at WelcomeHome Software, I led a small but mighty team responsible for the brand’s entire creative presence—from product marketing campaigns and data reports to large-scale events and digital content. I partnered closely with product, sales, and customer success teams to build a brand recognized as a thought leader and #1 in brand awareness in the senior living industry.
No two days were ever the same. One might include producing a campaign launch, writing copy for an email series, or directing a photoshoot for a live event. I’ve worked with agencies, led design projects from concept to launch, and made sure every piece of creative stayed true to the vision. Along the way, I learned how to stay grounded when things get messy and how to turn strategy into work that feels human, thoughtful, and effective.
Because I’ve worked as both the creative maker and the creative manager, I understand how to bring an idea from brainstorm to final delivery, balancing vision, deadlines, and cross-functional needs.
What is your greatest strength? Weakness?
My strengths are ideation, empathy, strategy, and collaboration. While I love hiding away in my space to create, write, and dream, I also enjoy connecting with and working alongside a team to bring an idea or concept to life.
I’m a passionate, energetic person who loves to always be working on something new and exciting. I also love helping people out. My weaknesses involve thinking I can be everything to everyone and saying “yes” to too many projects and things. But I’ve learned that always saying yes + no boundaries = burnout. And that’s no good for anyone. So, I’ve had to work on time management, knowing my limitations, and setting healthy boundaries for myself to offer my healthiest version (and most excellent work) to my employer and family.
What are your future goals?
My goal is to continue along the path of strategic creative leadership—shaping big-picture ideas while mentoring and empowering a team of creatives to do their best work. I want to keep working on projects that make people’s lives better, tell meaningful stories, and inspire action.
How do you handle stress and pressure at work?
With perspective and humor. I’m naturally calm under pressure, and I’ve learned that stress often softens when you approach it with organization, empathy, and a clear plan. (Also, as someone who single-parented two toddlers during a pandemic. There’s very little that can shake me.)
What major challenges and problems have you faced? And how have you overcome?
In 2018, I became a single parent to two little girls, ages 1 and 3. For several years (including during the pandemic), I balanced full-time work and motherhood while rebuilding our life. It was a time defined by grit and grace.
I transitioned from freelance photography back into marketing to provide stability and growth for my family. Those years were incredibly challenging, but they gave me perspective, resilience, and empathy, qualities that now shape how I lead both at work and at home.
Each season of hardship has taught me something valuable: that creativity thrives in perseverance, and that even when life feels chaotic, beauty can still be built.
